Tricia Valera

Tricia Varela was born in The Florida Keys. Although the Conch Republic will forever be in her heart, as a military dependent she lived in many unique places and experienced a spectrum of healthcare delivery models including the Canadian Healthcare System. She began her career in healthcare finance and operations in 1998 and further solidified her career in healthcare administration after settling in North Carolina in 2002. Her formal education began with an Associate of Arts with Honors in Pre-Law at Central Florida Community College, Ocala, Florida. Tricia earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Accounting and Business Management at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina. In 2016, she received a Master of Healthcare Administration from Pfeiffer University in Charlotte, NC followed by a Master of Business Administration from Pfeiffer University in 2019.

She is married to her husband Frank Varela and together they share a son and 4 grandchildren. They are a very family-oriented couple taking family vacations that include extended family, sharing their home with their parents and grandparents, and hosting many holidays and events with their grandchildren who live nearby.

Tricia’s professional roles have included business office manager, senior director of clinic ancillary services, director of operations, and director of finance. She led multiple special projects including establishing a profitable family medicine residency program with an annual start-up budget of $4.4 million, growing a family medicine practice to 19 clinics, and launching a quality imaging facility.

Tricia’s goal with One Health Consulting Group is to work side by side with the One Health executive team to achieve success in creating true value through reducing costs in healthcare while delivering quality care and access to the entire community.
