Mark Collins, MD, FAAFP, Chief Medical Officer.

With many years in a physician leadership role, Dr. Collins understands the complex challenges facing today’s healthcare providers. A board-certified family physician, he practiced in Waxhaw, NC, for 10 years before starting a practice in South Charlotte, which he quickly grew from 1 to 8 providers. He continues to see patients in the University City neighborhood of Charlotte, NC.

Over the past several years, Dr. Collins has successfully led hundreds of primary care providers through strategic growth, compensation plan changes, care team design and wellness. At each provider’s clinic, he helped develop a dyad leadership model – a crucial step for delivering the highest quality of care and creating accountability at the local level.

In addition to transitioning patients to value-based care, Dr. Collins is motivated to prevent physician burnout. He was involved in developing an onboarding program for new providers, which included opportunities for mindfulness, education and mentoring. Alongside his partners, he wants One Health Consulting Group to serve as a catalyst for changing the current delivery of health and wellness throughout the state of North Carolina and beyond.

Dr. Collins received his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University. He then went to East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine, where he was an Albert Schweitzer Fellow. Dr. Collins completed his residency training at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, serving as chief resident during his third year.

He and his wife, Shannon, have seven children. A proud father, he’s honored that he and Shannon added to their biological family through adoption. Their marriage and lives are enriched by the diversity and stories represented by each of their children.
